I'm Zaakir — a software engineer based in London. Software developer by craft, creative by nature. Fanatical about AI and InfoSec; currently deep in the weeds with inference, training, and optimising local LLM performance.
What I'm building
A few things I've recently shipped or am still tinkering with:
- Incant — Local-first voice dictation for Linux. Double-tap a hotkey, speak, tap again, and your words land wherever the cursor is. Fully on-device via NVIDIA's Parakeet model.
- RustyFile — A fast, self-hosted file browser in Rust. Single static binary, resumable uploads (TUS), HLS video streaming with on-the-fly transcoding, indexed search.
- olbench — A Node CLI that benchmarks locally-running Ollama models — scores your machine, recommends models that fit, measures real throughput and time-to-first-token.
- Verbski — Russian verb conjugation as a card-matching game.
- Safe Contract Lab — A database of Web3 vulnerabilities with real examples and prevention strategies.

What I write about
This blog is where the slower work lives — bug bounty methodology, HackTheBox / TryHackMe write-ups, and notes from the AI & InfoSec corners of the internet.
